Nadia Elena Comaneci
Her name gained international attention as well as affection after giving the world one of the most remarkable moments in the past of sports by scoring the very first perfect ten ever on bars that were symmetrical, during the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. In the following years, she was able to score the same feat with six more perfect tens, which made her the youngest Olympic All-around gold medallist in the world at just 14. Not only did she draw media attention, but also contributed to Romania gain a global presence. Through achieving a feat that was not possible the sport's icon helped bring gymnastics into the spotlight of global the spotlight. Additionally, it altered perception of women athletes by the public. Her impact was so significant that she was dubbed the Olympic toe on and release moves. These moves remain extremely difficult. Apart from the Olympics her performance was impressive. She also showed outstanding results at the World Championships and European Championships and was subsequently a living legend and one of the top gymnasts the world could ever have.
